You can use the import wizard to import work into the planner. Simply paste the data to be imported into the import wizard.

To use the plan import the user requires all three create permissions to be set as the plan import can create new roles, resources and projects.

You can import agile and non agile work.

Import templates

CSV import templates are available to download. Optionally use these to format your data for import.

Importing work

Here is how to use the import:

  • Within the planner, select import.

  • Paste your work data into the import box (one work assignment per row).

  • Select validate to check your data is ok to import.

If your data has no errors:

  • Review the data to be imported and click back to make any changes.

  • Otherwise click import to import the work.

If your data has errors:

  • Click back, correct the errors then import again.

Notes

  • If a role or resource does not exist they will be created for you. Currently only creation of named resources is supported via the plan import. If you are using resource groups, import them or create them using the resources page then import work using the planner import.

  • If work is being imported for a resource and a resource with the same name already exists, the work will be assigned to the existing resource.

  • If a start date which is not a Sunday is used, work will be imported using the previous Sunday start date.

  • If work starts before today and finishes after today, the work will be split into two segments and the first segments work will be considered completed.

  • Enter only one work assignment per row.

  • Separate fields using a , (and fields must not include a , as data).

External ID

You an use the external ID to update work records via the import. Here is how it can be used.

Assign a unique external ID to work that is imported. If you subsequently import work with the same external ID, it will update the work in Kelloo rather than re-import it.

Here is a use case.

You import work from Jira into Kelloo.

  • The work has a unique ID imported from Jira.

  • So the Jira ID will be recorded against the work in Kelloo.

  • You re-import the work from Jira.
  • If Kelloo finds a match on the Jira ID in the Kelloo External ID field, it will update the work. Otherwise it will import it as a new record.

To edit the external ID, select more... from the edit panel.
